Thumbs up Shifter Boot Retainer

I had to buy one of these the other day but when I began looking I was told GM no longer made this retainer. I went to a dealership and gave the last 8 numbers of my VIN and got the part for about $10. People were trying to sell me the whole console advising that you couldn't buy the clip. I bought a glue gun and glued the boot and its like new. Just wanted to let ya'll know. I have read alot of threads were people cannot find these retainers. thanks

I had the same problem with mine, it broke and no one knew how to get a new one. I ended up just rigging it up somehow and it worked till i sold it.

The bezel that goes around the radio and heater/ a/c controls is $187.00 and the whole dash is $725.00!!! I had a audio system theft and had to get quotes from the dealership... wow! An arm and a leg!

Do you have the bill?Because it must have the part number on it.It would be nice to have it.

I replace mine with a complete boot since the stealership tell me that the clip was not available anymore.

I paid 120.00$ can + 15% of taxes for mine(complete boot)

You might check out LS1tech.com there is a guy that makes them out of steel wire for liek $10 shipped or 10+ shipping. Supposedly they work great and will never break.
