Shift knob options
Shift **** options
I have a B&M Ripper in my T/A and I hate the leather shift ****. I did a little bit of searching and couldn't find what size the shifter is. What have you people put on for shift *****. I really like the Hurst black or white plain ball, or the T Hammer handle or whatever you call it. Did you have to modify anything to put your handle on? Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Re: Shift **** options
I got a billet shift **** from RKSport. I think they are a little pricey with most of their stuff, but this was worth every penny ($40 I think)! Check my signature for pics of the SS variety installed on my car...shody picture of the ****, but you get the idea. It's very high quality, solid piece construction and they offer TA and Firebird options.

Re: Shift **** options
As far as sizes go, I think there are a couple of standard ones. I haven't the slightest as to how you tell what is what, though. But I do know my shift **** from RKSport came with an adapter if I needed it. It would just thread right over the existing threads and then the **** threaded on to the adapter.
I'm sorry I don't know how to tell what size you have/need...but there has to be some way to measure it. I guess you could use a nut to tighten down over the threads on the shifter...as long as you know the size of the nut, you'd know the size of the shifter.

From your comments, I'm assuming you like your billet shift ****. Is it really cold in the winter and hot in the summer like the rumor has it? Does your hand ever slip when shifting hard? I'm thinking about ordering one from MBA.

I love it! Way better than the crappy leather one. I get a surprising amount of compliments on it...probably because it's one of the only things I have changed in my interior.
As for the heat, yes, very hot in direct sunlight
. You just have to adjust...I use an Oakley soft case and put it over the **** when it's way sunny/hot and I know the car will be there for a while. Cold--ya, but now she's in the garage till spring break, so that isn't really an issue. Slippage, nothing comes to mind (like missing a shift b/c of it).
All in all, I think the plusses way out weigh the minuses. It looks professional and adds something to the interior.
