shaved antenna?

hey guys,

i'm getting the car ready for monday, its going to the paint shop where i'm gonna seal and paint my car, i broke the antenna trying to take it out so i bought a hidden antenna kit on ebay and i'm shaving the antenna's old hole.

how do i do this?

i was thinking, cutting a peice of metal and then glueing it on the backside of the quarter and filling the hole with bondo, prime, block sand and paint!!!!!

what do you think.

again not expert... but u need to cut the hole... cut a matching piece of metal and form it to fit the curve if any...then u need to go around tack welding it untill u have a solid bead... grind it smooth...sand.... primer...and paint...

i guess

cut a piece of metal the same shape and size then use a countour gauge to get the exact contour of the body then bend the piece of metal to that shape and then tac weld all the way around til the circle is completed then grind the welds smooth and then do all the body work.

you could just weld a crude patch on the under side then take a hole saw and cut a perfect hole. Then take your hole saw and cut a hole in a piece of spare sheet metal and use the new "plug" cut out of the spare sheet metal and weld it in. I did this on my 69 mach 1's shock towers because some jerk used a torch on them at one point in its life. So i just welded a piece of steel behind the hole cut the torched part out and then welded in a new piece cut from a hole saw. Worked great.

Sounds about right, I dunno I just had my body shop do it all. Just re-mount the antenna in the trunk somewhere hidden. Usually that is how you shave on metal, so go with it.
