sequential brake light problems
sequential brake light problems
Beginning of last summer I installed a set of sequential lights in my t/a and they worked great. I don't drive my car in the winter except for around the block every now and then to run it. Well yesterday i noticed my blinkers didn't work, neither of them. So my first thought was to check the fuse, it was fine. I checked to see which bulbs were burnt out and all of them were except for the two closest to the back up lights. Then I changed out the flasher relay which made things weird. It didn't make any of the non lighting bulbs light up but made the inner two flash
So I pulled apart one of my tail lights and all the bulbs appear to be fine. I wiggled the wires around to make sure there wasn't any bad connections and it didn't make a difference. I don't think it's a wiring problem since BOTH sides show the same exact problems at the same time. To try and illustrate which ones are bad and good...
**O O**
* being a bulb that doesn't light up and O being a bulb that lights up. Could the weather have messed up the connections? I believe I crimped all my connections, tomorrow I might try soldering them all but I still think it's odd that both sides went out at the same exact time
Well thanks for any input

Re: sequential brake light problems
Sorry to hear about your problem!
I've had my lights in for about a year now. I probably got them around the same time you did.
Have you tried emailing Damion about it? Maybe he could offer a solution...
Good luck!

Ok, I checked and all the bulbs are ok, I checked my connections and they all seemed fine. I checked to see if the module was getting power and it was, then I checked the ground and it was fine too. Has anyone had the little modules die on em? I can only conclude that the modules have died on me...both of em and they were just working fine a few weeks ago when i last drove it
I e-mailed damion but haven't gotten a response back yet. The only thing i can think of is that the cold weather some how broke them but it only got into maybe zero a couple nights around here and I would think they should be able to withstand that!

Well I had this problem on my 99 TA and on my 02 WS6. I just receivied 4 tickets on 2/18 because on 2/17 the turn signal and brake lights stopped working. The turn signal light illuminates but does not flash on the cluster nor on the rear tail light assembly and the brake lights did not work. I had it in the shop for this before and obviously they did not fix it. The cop gave me 4 tickets a ticket for no brake light, not signaling when turning right, not signaling when changing into the right lane (hello if there is a wiring problem it is affecting the whole assembly) and for not having my license in my possesion (Im from Il and I got a ticket a month ago and when you get a ticket they take your license as bond. He told me he was not accepting that as my license and could take me to jail arrest me and have my car towed... bull****! I told him that it happened last night and was taking it to the shop that day to be fixed. Anyway at work we printed of the wiring, and determined the probem was coming from the turn signal relay connector (underneath the dash) the green wire was loose not crimped down all of the way causing the lights to be sporatic.
Thanks for the reply, but I figured out that the sequential modules themselves were bad. I e-mailed daimon and he sent me bran new ones at no cost. Now that's great customer service! I installed the new modules and the brake lights are working just like they should.
