Safe to Paint Rear End Cover?

While I have this off, is it okay to paint the rear end cover with some high temp paint? I think it would look really good, and I don't think anything is wrong with doing this, but maybe I am wrong. I know no one will see it but it is still all rusty looking and what not. Thanks

I know that the 35th anniversary camaros came with a painted diff. cover. Maybe sand/bead blast it then prime, paint, and clear coat.

If it was me, I would de-grease and sand the cover then rattle-can it with some black high-temp bbq pit paint.

Yeah you can paint it. You should definatly degrease it first though.

Picture of mine painted at my webpage, just use engine paint. Had it on there about 15,000 miles now with no problems.
