Rusty Rotors
My car has new rotors and they rusted immediately. I should have painted them when I bought them, but didn't think they'd go this fast.
Is there an easy way to remove all of this besides a wire brush, lots of elbow grease and an afternoon? I was going to do this, and treat them with Ospho and paint them with a zinc-clad paint. Have any of you ever successfully made your rotors look new again?

Re: Rusty Rotors
Trust me you don't want to get any paint on your rotors, my friend was too lazy to pull the calipers out to paint them and got it all over the rotors.....talk about some loud embarassing stops and plus its harsh on the pads.
Re: Rusty Rotors
You can paint your rotors lots of people do it, just try not to get any on the area where the pad will rub. I put new rear rotors on my car and went a few months with out painting them and they rusted real bad. I just pulled them off and sanded the hub area and the vaines sp? area. Then i just took some flat black high temp paint and hit the hub area and the vaines. Then when i was done i wiped the excess off the pad area and installed them. The small amount of left over paint was taken off as soon as i hit the brakes. That little bit of paint that got taken off couldn't of been much worse than the rust that always gets on my car when it rains.
