Rust Holes in the Trunk
I just brought out my 1979 Z28 and saw that the trunk was rusted very badly. I saw pieces of the trunk that were chipped off in big chunks. So I decided to clean up the pieces and when I did that, I hit my hand on the trunk and took out a football size hole in the side of the trunk. Now I am afraid that the whole trunk could be this weak. Is there anything I can do?
What should I weld on? I do want it to look original. Any idea if I can get an original trunk bed and weld it on?
If that's not possible, can I put in a bed liner like you do for a truck?

I don't know if I'll have any luck in a junkyard. But is there any way that I can weld sheet metal, or something like that, on and get a sprayed-on bed liner to go over the top of that. Would that work?
