Rubbing with aftermarket hood.
Rubbing with aftermarket hood.
Ive got a fiberglass SS hood and my MAF sensor and Moroso CAI rub when the hood is closed. Ive tried repositioning the MAF sensor but it still rubs.
Do any of you guys have this problem and if so what should i do to fix it?

Re: Rubbing with aftermarket hood.
ive never really heard of this prob, what brand is your hood? u might want to try adjusting the stops located at the front corners if u trun these it may let the hood sit higher and not rub, good luck
Re: Rubbing with aftermarket hood.
I would think if the hood is aligned good you probably don't want to mess with the hood adjustment. I'd check to make sure the cold air is fully seated in that well area. Also check to make sure the radiator/ABS stuff isn't keeping the cold air kit higher than it should be.
What part is rubbing? I'm assuming that it must not be the plug in part because you can rotate that down a bit if needed

Yes i rotated the MAF sensor so it wouldnt rub but i think it still is. And i know that my CAI is still rubbing. Im going to mess around with them sometime to try to fix this.
Re: Rubbing with aftermarket hood.
actually, i have a stock z28 hood and i have recently noticed that the 1LE intake elbow is doing the same thing. The heat shield/foam (whatever it is) on the underside of the hood has indentations from the intake elbow.
I think i might try adjusting my hood to see if it solves it, but this has only started recently and nothing appears to be out of place either.
