ok guys.i have a friend that owns a 2000 s10 that he MADE into an xtreme.
its a 4 banger, manual. he has the blazer tb, a cai and wants NAWSSS. He got rims and tires(of course). its in the shop getting painted blue with silver flames with baby blue tips( pics soon). he also got a corvette style hood and now wants to put the z06 style rear scoops on the rear of his ground effects.
i think this is way rice. to me rice is ANY car made to be something it isn't....namely FAST. its all show and no go. he also has the interior riced out
i pick on him about it and he says a domestic can't be rice.lol

for the money hes got into it iwould rather have an f-bod, or another sports car. but i think the truck is nice, bu i don't believe for a second that he watches lightings trying to catch him or that he was driving at 105 mph when he took a picture of his gauges so he is full of chit.
This is the funniest/gayest picture i have ever seen http://images.cardomain.com/installs...616_5_full.jpg
The thing that makes it rice is that he wants to do "performance mods" to it, the comment about lightnings (13 sec truck vs 17 sec truck
), and the fact that he drove that thing that fast. If it wasnt for that stuff, itd just be a typical "tricked out" truck, definatley not my bag of tea but to each his own.

No it isn't rice.
If he puts the "Extreme" emblems on, that would be rice.

My buddy has cobra emblems on his slow 3.0 or so Ford Ranger, but I still don't consider him rice, because that's just how he is?
Putting SS emblems on a non-SS, that is pushing it, but F-Body owners have some sense about them - I mean, look what they started with anyhow, at least it has that much worthiness to it.
Rice?..... NO!
People have been modding trucks forever. If he does get around to installing a LT1 then nobody would be calling it rice and an engine does not make or break "rice".
Personally, I am starting to get annoyed with how wide the "rice" spectrum is getting. Car lovers have alway modded the cars that they car afford and that are popular in the circles they run. Times change and import modding just so happens to be popular now.
50's: Hotrods
60's-early 70's: muscle cars
late 70's early 80's: big trucks
late80's early 90's: muscle cars again
Now: imports are what the younger set think is cool
At the same time if you ask these"ricers" if they would trade straight up for a C5 95% would be all over it.
These kids will come around eventually, but they are boost and technology crazy and so far the U.S. manuf. have nothing to offer them.
Just some of my thought.
