Replacing heater controls with LCD panel??

Has anyone ever done this? My boyfriend suggested that I move the heater controls and put a flip-up LCD panel in their place. Where would I put the heater controls? Has anyone ever done this so I could see a picture?

Question

What year is your car? I have a flip-up Alpine HU (CVA-1000) in my '95 in the stock radio location. What's wrong with the stock location?

On the 94 Z You can put a flip up screen in the stock deck location

I had a Pioneer that was a flip out screen and it was also had a CD player and Radio built in and there was a " BRAIN " that was mounted under the seat

If you are dead set on puting a flip out screen in the HVAC location I would recommend using the center console , we did that with a friends 96 Tahoe and it works out pretty well , you just have to make an extension for the wiring harness

Oh, I didn't think there would be room in the same place as the cd player. I've got mine sitting right in the middle, I suppose I'd just get a custom plate thingie made. Well, that answers my question... thanks

another would be to create a custom pod under the dash on the key side. Easy access and I think it would look cool

mine was all one unit , you were right you would not have room for both a cd player and a flip out TV .

On a side note i did not know that they made a fold out tv that did not have a cd players built in

Are you serious? I see more seperate screens than combo screens (cd player plus the screen in one). My boyfriend did a project on a minivan one time, he put like 7 different lcd panels in the van... one for each person basically, and one that flips down from the ceiling.

He's got a 78 z28 that he's restoring, and he's totally redesigning the entire interior. He's making a fiberglass dash that'll have an lcd screen that pops straight up out of the top of the dash. He's also hooking up an old-school Atari in it lol. It's gonna kick ***!

most laws prohibit the screen from being in viewed of the driver that's why there's a safety feature with the ebrake
