Removing VHT

I put VHT on my taillights with a clear overcoat about 3 years ago and I would like to redo it to make it darker. Should I remove the old VHT or just sand over the old stuff and spray it again? If I need to remove it, whats the best method without destroying the lenses in the process?

This is just my 2cents but if you wet sand them you should be able to add more vht and then clear , if there peeling go that far and then build up the darkness .

Throttle body cleaner....

or carb cleaner but you gotta get that **** off in light speed! It'll eat thru the plastic

This is how I removed the VHT tint on the maxima after Johnny law told me he couldn't see that I was braking

EDIT: and what Ocala said as well...just wet sand to remove any debris and recoat till you get the darkness you want...save yourself a headache
