Removing tint

I need the remove the tint off of my side windows. I'll be leaving the tint on the rear glass because I don't want to risk messing up the defroster.

From what I've read, the process involves just peeling it off and removing the glue with a razor and window cleaner or soapy water. Would it help to park the car in the sun for a few hours to heat up the adhesive? Any other tips would be greatly appreciated.

Don't think it's that kind of adhesive. Just water, razor, and elbow grease.

Re: Removing tint

What i was told to do while i was taking mine off was to take trash bags and take some soapy water in a spray bottom.

Then spray the window and stick the trash bad to the window. Maby sure you get as much as the trash bag touching the glass as possbile and get the wrinkles out.

AFter thats done you set it out in the sun for a few hours then remove everything and peel it off.

It worked pretty good for me but i didnt get al lthe wrinkles out so it caught and tore in the places the glue was still pretty hard in.

Re: Removing tint

How old is the tint? Some of the newer tints will come right off. If not a mild degreaser and a razor blade. Sometimes the best answer for a tinted back window is just to replace it. Too much hassle imo.
