Removing the front emblem

My front emblem has a pretty deep scratch that I don't think I can get rid of, so can I just order a new one from gmpartsdirect.com? the 02 emblem isn't different size or anything right? And would the emblem come with some sort of adhesive on the back? Thanks... oh, and whats the best way to remove the old one? Just carefully prying?

try maybe a string to pull it off?? Or to get my side emblems ogg, i used a hair dryer and they became tacky and then they were easy to peel, but it took a while....

Yeah I "sawed" mine off w/ fishing line- worked great. try the hairdryer thing; i shoulda done that.

You should've posted on here- I would've sold you mine for much less than GM. Lata,

by string i meant fishing line......it works good but had my emblems off once before and i used some kind of strong bonding adhesive so i had to use the hairdryer....the combination of the two works best

I used a blow dryer on mine and after about a minute on high moving back and forth it popped off using my fingernail to pry it back and peeled them right off. Use a little WD40 on a clean rag and the remaining adhesive on the fender will come right off and not hurt the paint at all. Just be sure to wax good when you're done though since the WD40 removes not just the adhesive but the wax as well.... but really not the paint.

actually once I had removed the nearly invisible black badges I considered leaving it emblem free... It really does look good with clean fenders... then I remembered how much I already paid for my new '69 Z/28 emblems and what restock would be.... I really do like them now and get MANY comments on them.

IMO, just like you said... careful prying. I remove all emblem like stuff off my car with just my bare fingers

Why dont you get an aftermarket carbon fiber emblem like
RKsport sells?
That way you upgrade to something while your fixing something

What are they made of?
Can they be had at any auto parts store?
How much are they?
What did you use to apply them?
What if chickens had nipples?

Your reply is greatly appriciated.

I thought of upgrading the emblem, like going with the one on Brents site (the black with the red chevy bowtie that has a flam comming off of it) but I would rather just stick with the stock for now.... I haven't really seen one that has "blown my mind"....
Thanks for all the replies though
