refinishing stock T/A wheels

Has anyone ever refinished their own stock wheels? Mine are the 5 spoke painted aluminum ones on the T/A's and the paint is chipping off. It looks like underneath is bare aluminum of the same color, so I'm not really sure why they were painted to begin with...what have people done to help fix this or even make the stock wheels look a little different?

Thanks!

Paint them with some of that stuff that looks like wood grain. J/k man, I have the same wheels (I think) so I'd be interested in knowing how yours turn out when they're done. TTT for ya.

I kinda liked how mine looked, but 1) sucked they were 16's, and 2) they're only 8 inches wide. So if I coulda chromed/widened them, I think they'd be a pretty cool rim, except the 16" part cuz I'm not sure if you can get Nitto 555R's for them...
