Rear Window Defogger Install

Ok, I have a 93 Z28 that has every option BUT a rear window defogger. I know that being in Texas I won't need it much, but when I do need it I want to make sure I have it. Now what I want to know is, do shops install them? Or do I have to buy a hatch that had the defogger option already installed? I've got power seats, so all the hookups should be there. Any help is much appreciated!

Ooh, this is a good question...
While I don't fully know the answer, I will give my thoughts...

I suppose it depends on how you can order it from GM...if you can order it as a kit, then you or any shop should be able to install it.

Now if it was something that GM had to do prior to shipping, and they don't sell a replacement for it, then you might be out of luck as far as getting a "direct-fit" replacement.

However, I believe there are some companies that make aftermarket kits, do you could use one of those, it just wouldn't be as nice as one specifically for the Camaro.

Hooking it up should be no problem...

I would try finding a junkyard that has one with it already installed, and possibly even the same color as your car, and just swap it out...may have to pay a little for it, but if you supplied a core then you'd be better off.

Just my $.02 worth...
