Post Rear View mirror???

Anyone know how to take off the rear view mirror on a 97 Z28 ?? I have a custom bow tie mirror I want to install but cant get the old one off. I just don't wanna damage the stock mirrior or windshield. (I feel so dumb lol but theres no screws heh)

I'm sure it's like my 98. It has a clip that holds it on instead of the normal screw. All you do is take a small screwdriver (pocket size) and slide the blade up into the small opening at the bottom of the mirror attachment and gently pry out on it. Take your time it will come off, just don't use too much force or you'll bust the windshield. Putting it back on looks like it would be a pain. I installed a new mirror that has the screw so I didn't have to reinstall it.

Yup sounds like the same one. 97s seem to be a mix breed body like 93-96 and other options like the 98s and up. Thanks for reply Ill try again just did't wanna mess it up =).
