Rear hatch alignment
Rear hatch alignment
Does anyone know how to adjust the Pontiac rear hatches? I just replaced my Formula hatch with a TA and the gap on the passenger side is considerably larger than on the drivers side. It could also be scooted back towards the bumper a little too.
I don't know if you can adjust the front to rear or not. I put a T/A hatch on my buddy's soon-to-be-ex wife's formula a few months ago. The alignment issue we had was with the back end of the hatch sitting higher on one side than the other--as in it appeared it wasn't closing completely on one side. Turned out the hatch was just warped a little from sitting in the sun, off of the car for a long time. I had him weight that side of the hatch with a sandbag for a few days in the sun and it helped alot. It wasn't perfect, but his wife was in too much of a hurry to drive it and show it off so they just lived with it the way it was.
If there is any side-to-side adjustment on the hatches at all, I'd imagine you would see it when looking at the hinges.

slide the lock for the latch over some (the lock under the carpet in the truck area) keep doin it until you are satisfied with it other then that and unbolting the 4 bolts on the roof there is of adjustments

The adjustment is in the hinges. It will take two people to get it done. One person holds the hatch in the correct position and the other tightens the bolts down. It may take a couple of tries because you have to lock the bolts down with the hatch up...
