It's really about the look you are after. Vinyl looks good but some prefer the 3D type look and in order to get that you have to go with something like the SSinserts or the MBA inserts. Either of those have prices that are pretty good for what you get IMO. The RK Sport inserts are nearly as much but last only about a year... if you're lucky

Black is black Reflective black is black by day and by night at certain times when the light hits it just right, it reflects the light. Pretty cool IMO

Here is reflective black in the day. Looks like regular black.

Here is the same car at night...

I think black looks the best on a red car and I would not choose any other color.

On red I'd go with chrome or brushed aluminum. Black just looks too plain in my opinion. It all depends on what you want, mine are the chrome decals ($8 from ebay and I got an extra set too!) and I'm very happy with them, not to mention all the people askin me where I got em from. The real deal stainless versions are real nice but the price is not what I would pay for them until maybe a week before the 2004 nopi's. And the vinyl does hold up!!! Mine have'nt peeled or anything (even in the 100+ degree GA heatl and they still look like real chrome.

Oh yea, Ebay has them for about $5. Go to ebay and type in "93-02 camaro grill inserts" and they should pop up. Good variety of colors too. I'm debating on that cause pretty soon I'm changing my grill out for the Carbon fiber RKsport version. Saw it at last years Nopi show and it's just dang gorgeous lol. but wait....

Maybe the C/F grill WITH the chrome front decals in the middle, hmmmm....
