R & R Z28 badges

I want to remove my fender and rear Z28 badges to get them painted silver coz the overlays I have on them right now are peeling off. What holds them on? Is it a self adhesive pad that I'll have to replace or are they held on my screws/studs/nuts?

it is indeed an adhesive! One stock motha i might add =)

just take your time and take them off and get the sticky stuff out of the panel...thats the hardest part...cause it leaves nice imprints on the badges

In that case, you do you use to stick the emblems back on? Is there a replacement adhesive pad?

Thanks, Waswa

I wouldn't just pry them off, if I were you. I used fishing line to run between the car and the emblem. I tried floss, but the floss kept breaking.

You can use shoe goo to put them back on, or you can use 3M emblem tape, which you'll have to cut to size.

I used the shoe goo, but I used too much and had to take them back off. The shoe goo actually took the paint off the edges and I had to repaint them. I still have yet to put them back on.

Heat them up with an an old hair dryer first. Then you can basically pry them off with your fingers.
