Question Question about corvette rims.

I've been thinking of putting some rims for my camaro and the 00-03 c5 five spoke rims are one of the rims i've been looking at. My question is whether anyone thinks it's stupid to put rims that are meant for a vette onto our camaro's or if it doesn't really matter. let me know your opinions on this. i definately like the way they look its just the principle i'm thinking of now.

thanks

no it's not stupid! I think it is a great idea! My only suggestion is that you change the center caps, that is what i did and my friends say the rims don't look stupid like on some cars where it is not a good combo, they said they look like they belong on there. I say the center caps make it look more like they belong and they were only $10.00 a piece at the dealership. Check out page 1 and 3.members.cardomain.com/goodgrief

If you have a LT1 and you put LS1 vette rims on you'll have to grind a little bit. You'll just have to grind the inside circle where the axle goes.

Hey, I put Y2K's on my Trans Am. I get nothing but compliments on them.

Black_Z28: I have heard of people that had to do that but my car is a 1997 Trans Am and I put take offs from a 2003 Corvette and they fit perfect, I just had to use 7/32" spacers in the rear.

Hmmm, maybe it's just a few cars that need the grinding. I haven't done the swap to the rims I'm getting but that's just what I've heard.

i have a 96 with painted 99 ss wheels(zr1s), i was required to do the grindage you are talking about...i think it is only when you put newer wheels on the older cars, the rear is the problem...or something

I have OEM Z06 wheels on my car and I didnt have to grind out the hub although I was told I would have. I think you only have to if you are putting LS1 era wheels on LT1s. I dunno though.
