question about cleaning vinyl stripes *PICS*

I purchased some vinyl stripes a couple months ago and now they are starting to develope circular golden spots on them, i tried using dishwasher soap and vinager but it doesnt come off that way, anyone know if it is possible to remove the spots??

just in case you were going to try this... NEVER use a buffer, i found out the hard way....

what color are the stripes??? GOLDEN circle spots? could be mineral residue from your water??? do you have well water?

yeah the well water may have a rust buildup unless you run it through salt (water softener)

here are some pics of the spots where it is the worse (top spoiler)all the other stripes look good, its just the spoiler ones that look jacked up. as far as i know we get our tap water from colorado river.

is it still smooth or does it feel rough like the vinyl has been eaten away....

feels very smooth, if you close your eyes and run your fingers on it you wouldnt even notice a differnece.

probably water spots.....i would try cleaning them some more... other than that, i don't know what else to say....

sounds good, ill probly try using a claybar, tar remover, or some rubbing compund. ill let you know if it works, thanks for the help man, really appreicate it

Had that same exact problem...it's mold...there is nothing you can do to clean them up. It will progressively get more and more of a brown tone until you get tired of it and have them removed. Luckily I had mine put on by a local guy that does alot of circle track cars vinyl and paint. He pulled them off and painted them back.


...too bad the a$$ didn't put a clearcoat on them so now they've turned chalky
