Project "Pimp my seats" **update 9/14**

Ok folks, the project has begun to get some nice seats in my car.

Here is what I'm starting with:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=280021370757

I'm stripping down the seats to the frame and doing the following:
-completely repad the seats
-use stiffer foam on bolsters and seat bottom
-enlarge bottom and back bolsters by 25%
-insert bottom and back heating elements
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...MEWN%3AIT&rd=1
-recovering the seats in high end leather

I should have them done and in the car in 3 to 4 weeks.

I'll post pics of my current seats for comparison later.

Re: Project "Pimp my seats"

*update*

I'm only doing this to the front buckets.

Also, tomorrow I'm gonna see if the power equipment will fit the passenger side. If it does......I'll be adding that to the list.

Re: Project "Pimp my seats"

good luck with that project man, i wish i had the skill/effort to tear into that project myself. until i tore my rear end up at the track that was next on my list of things to do, was gonna have mine re-done in black with charcoal Z28 embroideries and red or charcoal stitch (still iffy on that choice) was qouted 1200 for cloth and 900 for leather for front and back (go figure leather cheaper *shrug*) that guy spent about 20 mins tryin to convince me to go with suade for 950, but when i do get this project done i think im gonna keep it cloth, leather looks great but its no fun to ride on and take care of, and it wears out faster =/

Update 9/5

***Update:***
-Adding suede inserts to lower bottom and lower back
-Adding shoulder bolsters similar to GTO seats.
-having the headrests embroidered

here is a pic of what is going to be done. Blue L means leather, and Red S means suede. And this is real leather hide, not leatherette that is used on all our cars, and 75% of other cars with supposed "leather".
