Pro Am Firbird

Has anyone ever seen or heard of a Pro Am Trans Am or Firdbird? This could be someone's custom creation but I seen one yesterday that really caught my eye. It was a 93-97 model with the ram air hood and it had a two tone paint job with the top being black and the bottom being silver or white. The lighter color started at the front right where the front clip is at its lowest and starts to curve toward the windshield and rose higher on the car toward the rear. Very nice IMO and appealing to the eye. Definitely an attention getter.

I've seen a few of them. I think they might have been a dealer option kinda like the F-1 Camaro. I've seen them in the yellow/white two tone and the green/silver two tone. There may have been other colors, but that's all I've seen. They're tough to find pictures of too.

They were made by a company in Tn. I think. Pretty much just an appearance thing, they're just v6 cars (except for the 3rd gens, they had 305's). I've seen one on the road and a friend of mine used to have a 3rd gen proam.

Yeah my mom use to own one of the third-gen versions, its all appearance and it was done by a local shop here in TN, IIRC it was 500 models of each year made respectiveley. the pro-ams in the fourth gen were all pro-am model II's also i believe. The custom work was done by Choo-Choo customs, it consisted of a body kit and a false ram-air hood, the third gens were 305's and im not sure about the fourth gens, but the body kit is pretty nice on them, id like to see one done in soldi colors, because the one locally ive seen is red with the silver bottom and im just not diggin it, my moms was this same scheme, but it was repainted solid red, and looked killer, i ahve some pics oin cardomain of it if anyone is interested lemme know and i can get ya the link posted up!

Hmm I've never heard of that version, but I don't know 4th gen Firebird special editions as well as I know Camaros.

For what it's worth, there was a company in Florida that made Banshee Firebirds back in at least 1994. Here are some pics I took at a car show:

This is the only picture I could find of a 4th gen pro-am so far. It's a solid color too, I know RacingTiger wanted to see that.

I owned a blue 85 Pro Am, V6 5spd. Would have been a much better car with a V8.

They made them in V8 also (Pro Am III) I think. They had functional hoods like the WS6 I do believe. I looked at them in 95 when I bought my Z28.

The local Pontiac dealer here in Charlotte peddled quite a few of them back then. I haven't seen one on the road though in years.

They were nice looking but could look over the top at sometimes. For some reason when I was buying my F Body I did not exactly want to announce my ownership to the world despite my favor of the car. Perhaps this was a result of the negative image of F body ownership over the past 2 decades at the time.

www.fiberglassfabricatorsinc.com used to sell the Pro Am bodykit and a shaker hood for the 4thgens. But their website doesn't exist anymore it seems.

I know a guy that had a 94 pro am. Purple and silver two tone. It was ugly imo. Looked like the pic above. Also a V6.

Here's some info on the Choo-Choo Customs 3rd gen cars for those interested. Just click the menus on the left (Team Camaro, SS, SX, etc.) to view the cars/info.

- The first picture you posted of the black and white one was exactly like the one that I saw on the road. Very sharp IMO.

Thanks guys for the input. Before seeing one, I had never heard of this model.
