primer and paint question...
primer and paint question...
i am replacing the floor boards in my 81 camaro im restoring. after i sand and clean all the metal on the floor boards and else where what type of primer should i use before i spray with a semi gloss black? i know theresa self etching primer, and a sandable primer, and i guess a regular primer, but which one do i want to use??? thanx for any help and you guys can give me. and also what brand would you guys recommend??
Re: primer and paint question...
Self-etching primer is made for bare metal. It provides a better base for paint to stick to. Sandable primer is what you'd use for body panels, because you often sand the area a few times because your color coat goes on. But for floors, just use a good quality acrylic primer and top coat.
