Car is 97 TA. Antenna was working flawlessly, now stuck up. The motor is making a "grinding sound" now and I even tried helping the antenna down when turing the key, but no help. Can it be fixed or do I need to replace the whole thing? Its dark out now so I havent pulled the plastic panel to check it out. Thanks

 

I had the same problem with my 96 TA. I bought a new antenna with the plastic strip that feeds into the motor, I could not get it to load properly, and eventually just gave up. I've had the motor unplugged for a few years now and just leave it in the up position. Honestly, the power antenna always annoyed me, noisy and faulty. Sometimes when it did work it would stick and then go down 5 min later setting off my alarm. I wouldn't mind having a cool lower profile fixed antenna. If your gonna reorder the whole unit, goto

Probably stripped gears or something of the sort. Sounds like its time for a replacement.
