Powder coat or paint?

I have the intake off right now for the infamous leak and I figured now's a great time to get some color on it. Something besides greasy hand prints, anyway

So.. I know BMR will do it for $50. After shipping costs both ways, that'll probably be somewhere around $100. No thanks. I'm currently looking for something local, but incase I don't find it - Has anyone just hi-temp painted their intake? Did it last worth a poop?

Look for a guy on Ebay that sells powdercoated stuff. His ID is Noblecoatings. He does really good work and I've got him doing my intake right now. Highly recommended.

It's not really that hard at all, just take your time. Do you have a Haynes manual? That'd help. Another thing: have some ziploc bags, a pen, and either a sheet of paper or some index cards. When you remove the bolts and the brace for the alternator, toss them in a bag, write down what they are on the index card/scrap of paper and toss that in the bag. Same for the TB bracket and so forth.

Also, get card board box like a shoe box, flip it over (open side down) and use that to put your intake bolts in. Use it as a model of your intake. Just label one end the front. When you take the 1st bolt on one side out, like the passneger side, poke a hole in the corresponding area of the box and put the bolt in there and so on for the rest. This will keep the various types of bolts in order for when you have to put them back... Works for me, anyway.

I don't know the part number, I just got them at Advance Autoputz's. They are Fel-pro's though.
