Post Callaway C8 Camaro pics
You know, just the other day I saw some pics of a Callaway Camaro (or at least one with the Callaway body kit) and it had some funky *** paintjob. I can't remember where I saw it and I've been racking my brain since I saw this thread bumped.
Was it blue with red stuff on the hood? I don't have many pics of that one, but if you find them, let me know! It's a weird paint job I don't like much, but hey... it's still a Callaway.
Do you remember if the pics were high res? If they were tiny like CarDomain pics, don't worry about finding them. I really only made this topic because I'm wanting high res pics of one since there aren't any anywhere.
(The largest pics are the ones on conceptcarz.com, but the pics aren't in a realistic setting-- it's on a trailer in some and in others it is behind a barracade bar).
Also... if anyone happens to collect/have some old Playboys, this

C8 was featured in an article April 1996, and I'd LOVE to have some high res (300DPI) scans of the article and pics.

Shock6906, here's the one you saw, I dug through some of my collection and found the pics I have saved. The paint job really ruins the car. The red stuff isn't even centered on the car.

You really have to stick with one solid color with these Callaways. It's design is too unique and rare looking to risk over doing it and causing people to perceive it as a bodykit moreso than a special car.
Sort of the same reason a Koenig Ferrari should remain 1 solid color to prevent people from assuming it is a riced out Ferrari.

My boy had bought a Callaway kit a few yrs back. For the $ I wasn't impressed w/ the over all fit. ALOT of adjustments were necessary but once it was finally all aligned (3 mos) it wasn't bad looking at all esp w/ his Fikse FM5's on it and slammed. The ONLY thing I want is the rear bumper that chit is pure **** when looking at from the side or rear. Only way to get one is if you cough up 5K for the whole kit. I still wish somebody would make an after market rear bumper removing the over hang.
I don't have a current pic but this was his car w/ a photo shop of the factory front clip as I was always curious to see what it looked like w/ the factory bumper

Believe it or not, but I'm the one who photoshopped that for Johnny! I remember him saying the body panels were hard to get to fit right (though it is difficult to get even the stock Camaro ones to fit and line up properly as well), but I don't remember if he had Callaway put them on, or who he had do it. I seem to remember him saying he had some bodyshop in Austin do it, but I don't know... I remember him saying he didn't know what to do with the airdam after installing the body panels because it no longer fit in the stock location.... not sure what he ended up doing with it.
His car rules... he offered to sell it to me, but I didn't take him up on it for a number of reasons. (Didn't have the money, his car is WAY too tuned up for a novice like me to deal with, and the mileage is too high for my preference).
He's a great guy, we still email each other back and forth every once in awhile, but I haven't heard from him in several months now since he went back to the military.
Here's some pics of his car he sent me back in 2005. Beautiful is the only word to describe it. It's painted '99 Hugger Orange.

Yes, that's the one I saw. The paint job is abhorrent. Also, I can only say WOW to the one you just posted. That car looks incredible with those wheels and that color. I haven't really been impressed with the Callaway Camaro, mainly because of the nose, but that one looks great! I really do like the way the side skirts and rear bumper flow though. It gives the car a really nice curve. I'd really like to see some more pictures of it from directly behind...especially in that orange color.

I don't have any of the Hugger Orange one from behind, but I have a lot of other C8s' rear ends. The biggest problem with the rear bumper is that there is no "perfect" exhaust pipe/tip application for it.
If I get one someday, I would probably paint the tips black and make sure they don't extend past the bumper...similar to how this looks...

but in reality, this car actually has the twin Double D exhaust tips OR the round outlets, I'm not sure what is currently on it. It's had both versions at different times since this is the prototype (#001) that has been featured in magazines, the '94 LA Auto Show, and nearly all Callaway's promotional materials. See pics below.

This one has the straight pipes, and is the same one that is currently for sale on a website called Classic Trader (I think that's the name). It's the one with the rollbar that was for sale on ebay a year or so ago (some people here commented on how poor the pics were on the auction). Last time I checked, the owner was asking $45k which is a more than fair asking price in my opinion. In the general Camaro population's opinion, that is too much, but most of these people are just considering it a Camaro with a 383 engine, a bodykit, and fully leather interior. They aren't considering it for what it is, which is a very rare car that is barely even a Camaro anymore.

This is 2002 Commemorative C8 #01

This is 2002 Commemorative C8 #02, it has a very special engine in it. It's a Callaway C12R Race Car engine-- 6.8L with 550 hp.

Here's another picture of that teal one.

I've always personally wanted to see one with an LT1 SS spoiler, but haven't seen one yet...
I'm not sure what kind of spoiler this is, but unfortunately I don't have a larger pic to analyze...

It appears to look REALLY NICE with the bodywork.

I don't see him much now since he went Army on me. LOL
