Is it possible to fix delamination on TA taillight lenses?

I have some 93-97 TA taillights and the black checker board part is peeling off. How do I take them apart and fix them?

I don't know about the black to clear, but there are instructions on my cardomain page (check profile) on how to take the housings apart.

From what I can remember from all the tail lights that I took apart, the black is glued onto the clear and basically permanant; thus I think you'd destroy the tail lights by removing it. But I'm not 100% on that either.

Damn! What if I cut out the delaminated section and used black paint or something? I've never taken one apart so I just don't know how to get at the area.
