Arrow Pictures of your front bumper paint modification. and advice needed.

Ok so my Thanksgiving gift this year is to have to get a new front bumper. Apparently someone backed into my car while I was visiting my parents for Thanksgiving. They put an 8 inch crack in the bumper under the turn signal and folded the bumper up near the headlight as well as putting a few nice marks in it where they hit. They also cracked one of my new clear turn signals. best part they didnt leave a note or anything. I have come to the conclusion that it will probably just be easyier to replace the whole bumper and not have to wory about the cuts opening later on. My question (sorta) is...

I am toying with the idea of having the whole new bumper painted silver including the headlight cutouts and the nose inset (where the bowtie is) or maybe just leave the lights black or just the nose section black. Some combination. Or I might just do it stock. But I would like to see any pics anyone has of how they have done any paint work on the front end. especially if you painted the headlight openings.

Any oppinions/advice are welcomed.
As well as any other ideas.

I figure since i gota get it painted, might as well see if there is anything worth doing different.

Thanks guys look foward to seeing the responces

Ed

Just get the Front clip replaced and painted by a reputable shop and be done with it. THat sucks that no one claimed responsibility for it. Bummer.

I've seen pictures of two separate cars, one with the nose section painted, and one with the headlight areas painted. Personally, I didn't like the one with the painted headlight areas at all, but the one with the painted nose section looked sweet.

The one with the painted nose section is for sure a board member's car, its on Car Domain, I can't remember specifically whose it is though. I have no idea where I saw the car with the painted headlights, maybe someone else can help me out here.

On a side note, I have a similar crack in my bumper under the turn signal from where the previous owner hit a snowbank last year. I was planning on getting it repaired soon, but how likely is it that the crack will open up again? I, like you, was going to get the whole front clip repainted.

Hope this helps, and sorry I couldn't provide any pics!

Definantly paint your headlight pockets and front grille black! I did that and it looks soooooooo much better! IMO, when the whole bumper is painted one color, it looks like the painter was too lazy to mask off and looks like crap.

Pictures won't do it justice but there is a pic in my sig and it sorta shows the wonderfulness of the painted pockets...
