Hehe! no problem with that one! Anyway, I just wanted to get a rise out of you guys which I did. You know just in one of those moods, if you like Pontiac parts on your Chevy's I'm straight with that. NOT! Lol!

I think rlax31 is the only one who figured it out...

Was it a PITA or pretty much a direct swap(no cutting or anything)? How about the wiring harnesses.....

Will any 4th gen trans am panels fit in a 4th gen z28? I like the trans am panels much more.

Had to cut off the three camaro mounting points and remount them. You can see the cuts HERE

Be careful removing the clips from the parts you cut off, while putting pressure on the last one, my flathead screwdriver slipped and went almost all the way through my left palm...not fun

The locks and windows hook right up. The mirrors do not though. You'd have to get the wiring harness off a firebird, cut the camaro one off, and splice away. I havn't gotten around to doing this yet though.

One other thing I ran into was since you cut off these mounting points, the panel sits right up against the door skin, and this caused a small gap between the bezel for the door handel and the actual panel. This is because the bezel is designed for the panel to be out a little from the door. I plan on fixing this by putting a little bit of padding behind the panel in this area. It's not a big deal, but the little things add up.

Thanks for the tips. I'm gonna keep my eye out for a set. I think its a worthwhile "upgrade".

I love my leather Camaro door panels, but I must admit I would really prefer to have the component style speaker setup in my doors. How much work was it to get the new panels fabbed up to fit. I heard it's not just a straight swap.

Re: Pictures of Tans Am Panels in my Camaro

i think its cool. i wonder if i could do something like that with my 77 camaro. would that be a sin? trans ams from that day had leather pannels, and mine are a leather/cloth. keep it in the car. i'd sport it no problem. now just throw some speakers in there and jam! all thats next is a fish tank in the dash! j/k, i've seen it though with gold fish (got suckered into a nopi event) never again!
