Anyone have a picture of this SLP front license plate bracket on their 4th gen Camaro? http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SLE-59388/

Re: Picture of front bracket

I wouldn't put that on my camaro. It just dosent look right. I live in NY and I got rid of my stock grille with the plate attachment and replaced it with one w/o a plate attachment and put fill ins on it and it looks SO much better. I have NEVER had an issue (knock on wood) with the cops having only the rear plate in NY.

just my opinion but that looks unnatural looking on a camaro, but it is a little better then the stock grille with the plate attachment.

Thumbs up Re: Picture of front bracket

I'd rather not have a bracket or plate in the front, but NJ cops seem to really enforce minor laws like this.

Re: Picture of front bracket

that sucks man long island cops are crazy strict on stuff too but I have not had a problem and i do a lot of driving on the expressway and on local roads. I think they assume that the car cannot have a plate like a corvette cause I put the different grille on and it looks like it is the way it came from the dealer.

I don't know what else to tell you man if you think its a problem then leave the plate on but if you wanna change it change the enitre grille and get fill ins in my opinion.

here is the difference:

Re: Picture of front bracket

I've seen devices that allow you to flip the plate down and slide it under the front bumper for when you're at a car show. Don't know who makes them.

Re: Picture of front bracket

Seems like a waste of money. They don't look very good from what I've seen either. I'd probably be more likely to want to try to make my own.

Let's see... some tracks from a bathroom drawer... two small hinges that let the track bend somehow when extended... and some way to lock it in place... What a lot of freakin' trouble.

Thanks, their picture gives me a better visual. Also, I did not hear about that company until now. A lot of cool stuff on there.

oh yeah really annoying.. I luckily have not had a problem with the different grille, I think that is just becuase it looks like that is the way it would come from the factory and on long island there are NOT so many other 98-02 camaros so they prob really dont know.

I would have gotten the "flip" plate but it is such a waste of money.. prob $300.00 to have a front plate..

I just keep mine under the passanger seat!
