Pics with and without taillight covers-need opinions

I just got these in the mail the other day, and put them on today. Sorry, but after a full day of cleaning up my car and doing other crap, I was too lazy to move my car out and get some real good pics. Anyways, I was just wondering if you think my car looks better with or without the tail light covers. Any opinions appreciated

Also, I'm not sure why on the pics with the covers on you can see the little strip of red at the bottom-it must be from the sun or flash or something. You can't see it when you are looking at the car

My opinion, if you're going to have them just make sure that your brakelights are still clearly visible in bright daylight. I got behind a kid Friday that was in a black TA with taillight covers. His lights were so dim I just know somebody's gonna rearend him one day and sue him on top of it!
Don't get me wrong. They definitely look good. They are also illegal in most states if I'm not mistaken so just be careful if you're going to ride around like that.

Thanks for the replies. I did a test tonight (had my bro drive my car and I drove behind him). I'm not sure if these are a different darkness then others, but as soon as he hit the brakes they lit up like crazy. Then we took one cover off and left one on-and when he hit's the brakes, or when the lights are on, it's like you can't even see that there is a cover over them at all.

I know they are illegal, which is sort of why I am contemplating keeping them on my car or not. My tint is already illegal (got a ticket for that), and I don't have the best driving record, so with my luck I'm expecting to get a ticket if I keep these on. I guess sometimes you have to be willing to make a sacrifice to have a good looking car

Exactly what kind did you order? I'd probably put some on my Camaro if I could get some that were dark and yet not affect the brake light brightness noticeably.

I ordered mine from www.carparts.com but they were Auto Ventshade company covers. I'm not sure what brand my dad had on his Camaro, but his covers didn't really make that much of a difference either

Keep em'. Add turnsignal blackouts, paint the 3rd and rear reflectors too. My buddy did his on his black 95. I think I have some pics in my sig. I wouldn't worry about the ticket. I have been pulled over and other times parked next a cop at a light and they haven't said anything. But even if they did, you might be able to just pop them off and not get a ticket. Or pay just a bit and then toss them back on.

csabatka1: Thanks for the pics of your car-it looks really good.

95 Mystic TA: thanks for the advice, I already have the turn signal blackouts, but I think your right-I do need to paint the rear reflectors to black the whole car it, its going to look awesome. Thanks for the ideas.

Keep them on. I like them as well, I to run them on my 94 TA. There is a shot as well in my web page. As for someone not seeing it is BS cause there just to close on your back. The third brake light is just the right level of view to see.

Just be careful. Apparantly the ones I've been seeing where I live are a different brand because they do obscure the brake lights noticeable in bright daylight. And I know for sure they are illegal where I'm at. I think the argument of, "it is BS cause they were too close to my back," would never stand up in court.
I would leave them on but I would just be extra careful to make sure my brake lights could be clearly seen.
