Pics of the New Rear Bumper!
Pics of the New Rear Bumper!
Well Finally FINALLY I got the V6 bumper! Its a great story...and whether or not anybody cares to hear it, I figure I'll share:
So the original plan was to meet someone from my local (houston) car club, I will omit his name, but the plan was to meet him on Friday and trade I skipped all my classes to drive back to Houston to meet him and everything. All of Friday goes by with no call, I write him a PM and ask whats up, he writes back: "OH ****!..I totally forgot..." so then the plan was switched to early Saturday. And as you could imagine saturday morning goes by with no call, so I decide to call him around 12, and when I talk to him, I say "hey this is nathan, I was wondering when we could get together"...and it was so odd because the he goes "Right? And who were you again, whats this about?"..so of course I explained it to him, and he laughed and said he forgot again, but that he would be heading into my part of town to visit his mom, and we could do it there and he would for sure call me.
Well a few hours go by, still no call. I am getting angry because I wasted a whole two days waiting around on this guy. But then I remember, theres this kid that lives in my parents neighborhood who drives a 97 V6 Firebird, red and everything. So with nothing else to loose, I walk down to house and simply ask him if he wants to trade...and surprsingly...he was like "Sure, that sounds cool"....and then I was able to switch our bumpers...it was so cool and lucky. Then I put him all back together he took off.
I was able to paint my new bumper and get it on and all back together by about 8. And of course I would like to mention the other guy never called and still has yet to get in contact with me about it.
Anyway Here is the result! I apologize for the quality of this one, I swear when I took it the whole bumper was in the view finder:
New
For reference here is what my old bumper (and old plate) looked like:
Old
Heres a side view of the car, since this bumper has no ground effects, it really gives the car a more slanted look, almost a hint of Funny Car...I really like it.
Side View
And I'll try to get some better pictures soon, its just I dont have a digital, so its difficult!
Ok! Thats my whole Story! Thanks to anyone who read through the whole thing!
Nathan

Hey Thanks for the replies everyone! I appreciate it!
Oh and I dont think I mentioned, but the reason I swtiched bumpers was because, I switched my exhaust from Edelbrock Headers & Y, gutted cat, Cut out, and Flowmaster muffler..i switched it to Same headers and y, but a carsound high flow cat, bullet muffler and a turn down before the rear axle. I just didnt like having my molded exhaust slots with nothing coming out, and I figured the v6/formula bumper would take some attention away from my lack of exhaust.
And Sorry Suncoast, I am of the school of thought that believes the stock WS6 hood is the best looking hood for our cars,
.
Not that your hood isnt gorgeous, which it is (in fact your whole car is beautiful), but I LOVE my SLP Ws6 hood, sorry.

The rear bumper is what i personally always liked about the TA especially when you paint it black like yours was. If it makes you happy though then thats what counts. How did his car look with the TA bumper?
