Pic of my Z right after being painted
#16
Thanks for the compliments and advice guys - you all rock!
The body shop is located out here in Long Island. The owner is on vacation until Tuesday, so when he comes back, I'll ask him about painting the nose/hood/car, etc... He fixed my brother's '98 Mustang GT after it was sideswiped, and it looks totally mint as well. It's a small place, but I think his work is amazing.

let em guess,
he painted from the doors back or the front fenders and foward?
either way it looks terrible...
id be pretty damn pissed
im not saying this to **** in your cherrios or anything, just my opinion.
this pic should explain it all- and there are a few other hardly intresting things i didn't note.
if anyone wants a PERFECT paint job on long island, let me know. I know two good places. One in nassau one in suffolk.
One did my car- one quarter pannel was hit and a hood. Looked rediculious. everyone thought the whole car was repainted and EVERY body pannel looked perfect. The black/white paint merged perfectly- no bump from the masking tape or anything.
my friend got his vetter completely redone- looked ****ing amazing.

Trey,
With all due respect, while I appreciate your input, you are totally wrong.
The "color variance" you're talking about is an optical illusion created by the angle of the car and body panels. The entire car was painted at once, and if you can judge a paintjob with that much accuracy by a compressed digital photo taken on an overcast day, you should be working for NASA.
Looks terrible? I gotta say, I know a good finish when I see one, and I'm very critical of paintwork. I can certainly identify a poor paint/bodywork job, or some characteristics of one.
I guess everyone has their own opinions, but yours are based on a single photo. If you saw the car in person, I seriously doubt you would reach the same judgements. The car is indeed very close to perfect, and the color match between panels is spot on.
Please show me the color variance in this photo (taken the same day). Don't pay any attention to the water drips in the pic...

second-
You showed us pics and asked for an opinion based on the pictures. I did just that.
and you HAVE to agree- after looking at that picture and what i pointed out- my comment was more than fair. Thats a prety ****ing drastic change in shade right there- especially when the rest of the pannels seem to match fine.
