perfect body panel alignment
perfect body panel alignment
I was looking around ebay (as usual) and found this '96 SS with only 1300 miles on it. If you look at the reflections in the paint between the body panels, you can tell this car has absolutely perfect body panel alignment. It really amazes me since my Z28 is looking pretty bad compared to this.

Is anyone here a body panel adjustment expert? I'd like to know how to make my rear bumper not sag. It's be awesome if my Z28 looked as good as this one.

Once again, another nice find. Nice job, that is one clean ss. I've never had any issue with my rear bumper sagging, but I've had it off a few times and one thing you could check is the little plastic pieces (similiar to the ones that are on the hatch interior panels). You know, the ones that you push in and they kinda lock into place. Anyhow, there are several (I believe four-2 on each side) that help hold the rear bumper into place and it might be possible that your's are worn out or have popped out. just a thought.
Actually, you can tell a lot from pictures believe it or not. You may not have ever noticed this, but on our cars, if a panel is just slightly off, the reflection of the landscape will be wacky across panels. Look how perfectly the landscape flows from the front fender to the door in this pic.
I know for a fact that if you are not careful when jacking up the front of your f-body you can bend the hell out of the fender mount and that will lead to the appearance of the lower part of the fender being pushed out and not lining up with the door. Mine are pretty mangled from previous owner and it sucks.
