peeling clearcoat...ist there a fix?

i'm buying a car which has a small spot on the corner of the door that has the clear coat peeling...it's a spot the size of a quarter maybe...

is there a way to sand off that area...wet sand...then cover it so that the peeling stops? like maybe spraying the whole section of the door with another layer of clear?

thanks

It will depend on what color it is and how bad it is clearing. If you flake off the clear with your fingernail and it keeps on peeling... you'll probably have to repaint the whole door. If you flake it off and it stops peeling at that small spot, then you can probably blend in a little clear in that spot.
