Question Pastic body panel refinishing

I ran my Z28 through a ditch planting the nose in the ground. Now I have to refinish the front bumper cover. Does anybody know much about working on these plastic panels? I need some advice.

Thanks!

I went to several body shops who told me that it was definatly reparable. They looked at the peice and gave me a price to fix it. However, they wanted $500-600 which I could not afford.

I've done body work before just not on plastic. My main questions are what matterials to use.

I need to do a very small amount of body filler for a couple little chips. However, I am afraid regular bondo would just fall out, so do you use the fiberglass stuff or what?

Also they make repair kits for the plastic rip I have which is about 2 inches long. Where do you get these?

Thanks!

For $500 you could pick up another bumper cover and have it painted with money to spare.

I bought the book thanks for the advice. I'm just hopeing to gain some experience. Hopefully there is a technique in there that can help me fix these spyder web cracks.

I've done a bit of sanding and they appear to have gone away in most sections of the damage. However, I want to make sure they all get taken car of.

If this doesn't work I guess I'll just have to go buy a new bumper. However, any adivice is greatly appriciated!
