I just bought this 97 z/28 and ran a carfax on it also ,well the car fax and chevy say air bag NOT deployed and the computer holds NO SRS codes ,BUT the air bag COVER won't stay down,now since we can raise the cover we see what appears to be a fully functional airbag but at the risk of sounding vain or uncaring I am lobbying the techs at our shop (I work at a big auto repair center) to FIX it ANY WAY THEY CAN,up to and including air bag removal! does this sound like SUN/HEAT damage or what and has anyone seen this or fixed it?
