Panels and Design

I've noticed on several F-Bodies (mostly on V8's) that people have painted various Panels like the ones around the vents, the one around the center console that mounts the radio / climate control clusters and the panel around the shifter and parking brake. I want to do this, I was going to paint mine silver or chrome, I'm in a Navy Metalic Blue 98 V6 right now. But this is what questions me, how do you remove these panels to do this job? is it easy or what?

Also the upper dashboard component (the one that extsends to the windshield and has our red alarm light on SOME F-Bodies) on my car is severely cracked and damaged. How much would a new panel cost? any hope is repairing it? where can I get a new panel? Do the Late 4thGen Firebirds also use that same panel?

Thanks, all help and advice greatly appreciated.

Most of the trim is held in with clips and you just pull them off. You will feel a little resistance and them they will come loose. All the of teh piecxes you wanted on the dash are like this.
The center console, I'm not sure about on and auto. On an M6 there are a couple screws to remove in the console under the coin holder and then some more pop clips. Then it just comes out.

Have no clue on price for the dash piece though.

So just pull and these pieces (like the air vent coverings, the headlight **** embracement and the center console where the radio/AC is) will come right off?
