painting inside of LS1 headlights...can't find the link

i've seen a "how to" of removing the front of the headlights and painting the border black.

i want to try it but can't find the link

anyone help?

I read somewhere about sticking them in the oven at 120 degrees or 150 or something before pulling them apart..

or maybe that was brake light housings.. I can't remember.

4)Place the headlight assembly into the oven for about 20 minutes @ 200*F

It's the headlights - it's all in that guide Archie posted.

dont mean to hi-jack this post but its somewhat relevant, how could we seperate the tailights? oven would definately melt it, how bout a heatgun an a thin prybar?

I think whistler said he used an oven, but a heat gun you would have to work your way around the tail light and try not to get burned and hope that the glue doesn't re-set before you get a chance to pry on it

It not worht all the effort, but if you would like to do it put it in the oven for 20 mins and pry it apart with a butter knife very slowly hoping u dont crack the housing. I would not do it again if I had the chance.
