Painting Advice needed

HEY

I replaced the bumper cover on my camaro and the paint just doesn't match correctly. I have been told that the guy who painted it probably only painted one coat on the car and that I should paint another coat (or two more) myself. I was told that most bumper covers are sold in black so this original color is likely partially showing. The bumper cover is also missing the shine that the rest of my car has. Do I need to paint a "clear coat" as well? This is what I have been told but by an unreliable source. Also, is this something that I can do myself? I have experience using paint spray equipment (not automotive grade) but I am experienced with the masking etc. I see that a spray gun is only around 25 bucks on ebay and the compressor shouldn't be hard to borrow from a friend. Is this too complicated?? Does anyone know the steps to take, etc. ThanX

Leave it for the pros, take it to a shop with a decent reputation and let them work with it. It could be a bunch of things.

you go to VA tech? take it to Eanes custom paint, 540-381-8550

i've seen the work they do and it's great, and they don't cost that much either.

I just got an estimate on painting my car there from the doors up (bumper, fenders, doors) and it is $882.

He does almost all the paint work for the virginia tech car club, and he's a super nice guy
