and doesnt painting upside down lick ***.
What kinda of paint did you use? I had tremclad, but must have done it wrong, cause it all flaked off in a matter of weeks.

yes painting upside down sucks... especially when you have to do it twice (two coats)... and you can only see one side of the sfc. And because of that it took me four days.
The paint I used was definetly rustoleum, but I dont have the can. I think it was farm tractor red... it stands out nicely. It has lasted on my calipers to this point good too.

Were you thinking after you had them welded that you should have painted the top and were its not being welded BEFOR you had them welded on?
I made that mistake too, this time round I'm going to paint the whole thing and let them grind off where they are welding.
And going to wear them surgical gloves for painted the welded places, I hated getting the paint off my hands after.
Rustoleum, I thought that was jsut spray?

pinch rail, pinch weld, whatever people want to call it, the seam that sticks down that has the markings for the jack.

About the painting... yea, but I bought the car with them on. What I didnt realize until I got under there to wirebrush them, is that they seem to have been painted black, and before that, red.
What I dont understand is how paint could be so crappy, cause there was VERY little left of it... almost as if it were only painted in a few spots. Also this car has always been stored for winters. before pic of one side Rustoleum is a brush on and spray... its very good paint... Something sets its apart from the rest, but I cant remember what... for some reason Im thinking its oil-based so that might be it.

LOL, ok... Id say 1/4" or less right on the edge... the inside part of the subframe connectors probably hang about 1" below that. (2" tops Im guessing, Ill go out and measure in a few)
