does anyone know anything about the paint peeling problem caused by GM's paint method they used for a while from 85-93?

i just bought my 87' iroc and it shows the same signs that apparently alot of cars had due to the defect

i contacted chevrolet and they said due to the age(15) and milage(74k) of the car...that they cannot do anything. But ive read that if you take them to court they will pay.....anybody have any advice?
