Paint help

After having my front bumper/hood repainted 2 times in the last 3 years due to rock/bug damage.. I am fedup Is there BETTER paint for this that won't succumb so easy to bug hits? I plan to lay the paint myself this time around.

thanks

With good paint, applied in the right temperature, and given plenty of time to cure in the right temperature - covered with a good clear coat, in the same process, you should have no problems.

You may want to check out the new Lexan coating that they are coming out with. You can't change colors that easily, and it will cost a fortune no doubt - but it is unscratchable, and unchippable, so you should be good there.

you might want to find a junk piece to practice on before you get to the real thing. black is a pain to get right. i had never painted anything before and had a nightmare of a time with the black parts on my bike. it seemed like once i figured it out i was finished.

even with a good paint job if yr driving alot of highway speeds and hit rocks and pebbles you well get chips, maybe a couple of more clearcoats might help a little, or get a bra like i have, then you dont have to worry about getting yr car painted so often

I've got a very expensive paint job on my SS and it still chips if a rock flies up

Jordon I have the same problem - I had my nose painted. I picked the car up on a Thursday, drove to dallas on Friday. When I got back Sunday afternoon my front looked pitiful. I took it back to the place and they said it was part of life.

I've look into that 3m clear adhesive sheild, but it doesn't cover the lower half of the bumper. I don't see the point of it.

Anyone esle have any ideas?
Ryan
