Paging 95Zdroptop (Custom Autometer gauges)
Paging 95Zdroptop (Custom Autometer gauges)
I need to know:
- Which series of autometer gauges you got ?
- What type of led they take ?
- What type of LED you went with (standard vs. superbright) ?
- What color LED you went with ?
- How many LED's per pod ?
If anyone else knows any of the above... please post, thanks.

I just have the cheapest brand of White Face autometer gauges. Not sure what series but as long as they are white face it should work. 2 1/16 is the size.
The bulb size is 194 and only one is needed per gauge. This is the type of bulb I used

I think mine are superbright since they are pretty bright. I did not use any resistors either and they have been in there about 10 months. I am working on doing every interior light on the dash to be led. Its a little more complicated though. And I used blue leds

I would say that they are pretty bright. As is the rest of the interior.
What I want to know is how hard was it to change the bulb in the Auto Meters? I would think it was a pain kind of, but I don't have mine yet, so I don't know.
You wouldn't need any resistors with this push in type because it is already built in to the base of those bulbs.

Thanks man..
Yea the Quad LED's are the superbrights.... those look perfect.
One more question... which pods do you actually have, the mechanical ? or electrical ?
Also, is one of them a Air/Fuel ratio gauge because I thought the A/F ratio one cannot be lit up ?

Well first off, the camera made the whole thing look brighter than actually is. The interior is actually a darker blue (which looks better than the picture) than what is shown but is still bright. Nothing to distract you while driving. I think it is awesome and it gets a lot of attention when driving espically with the top down.
94BlackBowtie (Thanks for recommending those pilot foglights)
I changed the bulb in about 5 minutes and that is because I had to take the gauge pod off the column and then get to them from the back while the wires where still hooked up. If you change the bulb before you install them that would be real easy. It is a little tight in there but nothing hard and I took nothing apart that I could remember.

They are electrical and one of them is not air/fuel
Here are some gauges that look pretty cool!!
This one is new to me Pretty neat I think

I like this one but I got mine over two years ago so I may switch someday.

I also just used oil pressure for an example. Not sure of the quality of the gagues but if you are just going for looks then they are awesome.
