Owners of 30th Anniv w/stripes, please help!
Can anyone tell me how far apart the hugger orange stripes are supposed to be on a 1997 Z28 (30th Anniversary Edition)?? I ordered the "GM replica" stripe kit from Phoenix Graphics...I was told that the stripes would be placed the correct distance apart on the huge sheets that they come on, but I can clearly see that they are way too far apart as they are on these sheets. For example, if I were to install the two stripes that go on the front bumper as they are now, the outer edges would go out into the headlight area.
If you own a 30th anniv edition Camaro (NOT SS!) and still have the factory installed stripes on it, could you please take a quick measurement of how far apart the stripes seem to be? I'm getting my stripes installed professionally on Monday and would like to be able to tell the person installing them what the correct "spacing" is. Thanks everyone!

That is pretty darn rediculous of them to say they are the correct distance apart on the paper they were cut on! Holy cow. LOL!
I was about to help you but then noticed you needed the measurements for a non SS

when you put on the stripes, the large ones on the hood are curved at the top to follow the curve of the hood by the windshield. When you lay out the stripes, you just adjust them back and forth until the stripe curve matches the hood curve and it will line up good, thats what I did with my stripes.

Thanks for the info guys. I'm having professionals install these stripes, so I'm sure they'll figure it out...I probably don't even need to give them a measurement for the space between the stripes. But regardless, if anyone happens to know what the intended placement should be, let me know. Thanks again guys.

Just wanted to follow up on this thread in the event that anyone else needs to know that answer to this question in the future. My stripes are now installed (and look incredible by the way
)...I asked the guy that worked on my car how far apart the stripes were placed, and he informed me that approximately 9.5" is the correct spacing for these particular stripes. This distance apart should remain consistent, right around 9.5", throughout the entire car.
And take my advice here if you order stripes from Phoenix Graphix...don't trust that they are correctly spaced on the sheets that they arrive on!! Phoenix Graphix told me that they were spaced correctly when they arrived...and mine were spaced nearly 11" apart on the press sheets...and again, 9.5" was the correct spacing. Good luck to anyone working on a stripe project!

I'm working on it! I'm hoping to get some good pictures taken this weekend...I'd like to clean it up real good before taking the pictures, and the weather's been too cold around here lately to wash the fricken thing. So hopefully this weekend...I'll definitely post the pics as soon as I have them!
By the way, nice R6 in your Avatar Brian...I actually had an 02' R6 that I regretfully sold last fall. I miss having a bike a lot, especially now that Spring is right around the corner. Do yourself a favor and don't ever sell that thing...you'll regret it (unless of course you're doing so to acquire an R1!).
