I agree that calling everything that just does not look good rice.
Heck - quite a few of the products that get called rice came out before the GREAT rice movement...ie, Commando Wing, the other Super Tall Wing, etc. So they are pre-rice, so they can't be called so. Altezzas, they fall under the rice category to me, but I don't really say a lot - just poke at people usually.

But I agree - the comments like:
"That color sucks - it looks like rice."
"Your body kit is rice."
"Those wheels are sooooooo rice." (Unless they are 7" or less wide). Spinners aren't rice, they are pimp, bling, ghetto, whatever.

My shoes (boots...) have Gore-Tex - lets see your Nike's compete with that!

Are you sure about that??

To me, "rice" is when you have many gaudy appearance mods. If the car is a Camaro, keep it looking like a Camaro. Doing some appearance mods is fine, but just don't take it to far.

This is JMO of course.

I believe the original definition or "rice" was making something that wasnt fast look like it was.

Rice: Putting a spoiler on a 40 hp base model civic because its "functional"
Not Rice: Putting a spoiler on your 300 hp Z28 Camaro to make it a little different then the 500,000 others like it.

Rice: Putting a name brand sticker on your car for something that is not on the car.
Not Rice: Putting a sticker on your car because a sponser gave you free parts and money to do so.

20's are not rice, they are bling.
Neon is not rice, it attracts the ladies

If you dont like something, say so. Say oh its gay or thats ugly as your mom was last night. Dont lump everything under one rice term.

Thank you and have a good day

DING DING DING

We have a winner. Rice = mislabeling a car to make it look or seem faster.

Well, I dont have neon on my car, nor do I need to pick up on any girls. Just making a statement based off of what I see. Go to any "hangout" spot, and I bet you the majority of the younger (under 25ish) will be crowding around the show cars with neon.

Well, think about it...

Riceburners, Ricer, all those terms didn't get popular until when - 3-4 years ago? There's a lot of stuff that guys already had on Camaro's that wasn't considered rice, just ugly. I think that's the point here.

If you want to get technical - nothing about a Camaro could ever be rice, because it's american, not an import. That's just technically though - I don't totally agree with that statement.

And even more technically...
