Omg edit: got a few pics

edit: Ok- got a few pics today, here they are:

Had the hood on last week but it's now off the car and getting some finishing touches before it hits the paint booth.

and here's the motor:

That last one of the motor is what I started with. Shows what some serious cleaning can do. I also replaced opti, water pump fuelrails, etc, etc, etc. Loads of fun, let me tell ya.

I went out to my friend's shop today to work on my motor that I'm using for my swap (vette lt1). Anyhow, his dad has a body shop next door and is currently fitting my new venice front bumper and new hood. I walked into to the body shop and he has it all smoothed out and fitted, not painted yet but it looks killer. He molded in some honda accord clear corners that I bought and I've got some nice, high quality mesh grill for it when it's done. This guy does amazing work, I all ready had him paint my car in the past and he's done other bodywork for me also. If anyone is located in mid- MI and is need of a good body man contact Rick Inman of Inman's Body Shop (he's located just outside of midland MI. Wow, I new it was going to be cool, but I'm very excited about it now. To anyone thinking about an aftermarket body kit for their lt1 camaro be prepared to pay for a good bodyshop to do the work or plan on spending some time on making it fit right. I pretty much did the intitial fitting and trimming and Rick has closed all of the gaps and smoothed everything out. Also plan on reinforcing it with some extra fiberglass because it was flimsy as hell. These aftermarket bumpers fit for sh*t, but have the potential to look good. It might be a little while, but I'll post some pics when it's completed. Some may say it's a little rice, but no one around my area has anything like it so I'm doing it to be a bit different. By the way the motor is coming along nicely too. I painted the intake red, got some polished fuel rails, painted the accesory bracket and additional brackets aluminum silver, cleaned her all up, and am now getting everything backtogether. The new msd opti w/ the red cap looks great too. Also just ordered a chrome powder coated 52mm tb and polished aluminum tb cover w/ lt1 engraved into it. Boy am getting anxious to get her back on the road!!!!!!!

Is your car going to be repainted yellow again? I read the part about red intake and other parts and made the face for a second. I'm not sure how that is going to look. I would have gone with yellow if my car was yellow. I'm afraid it might look ketchup and mustard to me. I can't wait to see the pics though, it sounds like you have a good body worker.

It's going to stay yellow but have a red and chrome under the hood theme. I can see where your coming from on the ketchup and mustard thing but it's not like you see the motor when your driving down the road. I've also got a few hints of red on the car- cf door sills w/red camaro lettering and such. I was out to the shop again today and finished putting most of the stuff back together on the motor and also got to check out the new hood mounted with the front bumper. IMO it looks mean. I really need to take my camera out there next week! I'm sure someone is going to call it rice because it's an import style bumper (venice kit), but it's not like I just bought the damn thing and slapped it on, lots of time went into fitting it properly and attention was paid to the details. Plus, I love how it looks.

As long as it's a good quality job, you don't have a huge spoiler on the back, and stickers all over the car, I wouldn't say it's rice.

No stickers, no huge spoiler- it's a little taller than stock, you know the one that's out there other than the wingswest cammando one. I think rksport sells one like it. I forget what it's called, but anyway I'm a stickler for details and quality wise it's A+ so hopefully no one will rag on it to bad. lol

Well... make yourself happy before worrying about what other people think of it. That's my motto at least.

red and yellow remind me of Ronald McDonald for real. But if you like it then I say go for it. Sometimes things look different after they are painted however.

Hey custom95, I found this on ebay and wanted to show you it. Make sure you don't do this to your car. This looks like Ronald McDonald's Lamborghini for real (even if it isn't). Consider this an intervention from one friend to another.

Makes me a little sick to my stomach to look at... I feel like it's covered in ketchup.

If you were to take out the yellow inserts in the seats and have the interior straight red it wouldnt look bad in my opinion.

Brangeta, you're right that thing is hideous. Mine isn't going to look anything like that. The red touches are just subtle, pretty much just the camaro lettering on the cf doorsills, and on floor mats and then under the hood. Nothing that extreme. Hell though, that there is a lambo- I'd drive it like I stole it- probably the only way I would ever get to drive one anyway. lol.
