Saw a good deal on a front bumper, and wanted to double check...

What color is the urethane/plastic the OEM GM front bumper is made out of? I'm assuming you guys who have done front end conversions and stuff could answer this for me.

It's yellow right? Black = aftermarket plastic one... correct?

 

Nevermind, found an OEM one on ebay, and they are definitely yellow urethane. The one I found cheap was black.

When I got my '93, it had a couple of punctures in the front where the previous owner wasn't so careful about following distances or something. The resulting wounds were yellow, so I'm led to believe the original covers were yellow beneath their coat of paint.

 

My old 93 Z28 and my current 99 Z28 both have yellow urethane.

I had my bumper replaced after an accident. Old one was yellow where it was cracked. New one is black, and doesn't have a recession for the nose emblem since it's aftermarket

 

I wish I got that lucky when I replaced the nose on my 93.

 

These cars just don't look right without the nose emblem to me. But yeah, the stock ones are indeed yellow urethane.
