Odd hypothetical question, LT1-body style inside

I'm looking at picking up another fbody. Its going to be LS1, either a TA or a Camaro. Here's something I'm considering, though. I'm a huge fan of the LT1 bodystyle, so if I get a LS1 Camaro, I'd be very intrested in doing an LT1 front end conversion.

My question is, what would this involve (I seem to remember reading I need a cowl hood because of the extra engine, would an LT1 SS hood suffice? How much room do I need?

And would anyone be intrested in a straight, good condition front end for good condition front end swap?

I think the difference wasnt the size of the cowl, if i remember correctly it had to do with the factory air intakes on the LS1. Perhaps just getting a CAI would solve that problem? and what you're proposing for a front end swap shouldnt be a big deal to find someone willing if u get the same color, for some reason everyone lieks the ls1 nose *shrug* why is far beyond me, im with you on the lt1 body style except the T/A lol.

Hmm, couldn't you just convert the intake for the LS1 to the elbow intake with a cold air? That would do away with the lid, and then make any hood work.

I'm from Durham. The car is either going to be red or black.

I like the idea. I prefer the Lt1 nose and I like the LS1 engine.

Wouldn't it be easier to buy a 97 model and swap in a LS1/6/2 motor then to do a front end conversion? The 97's will have all the interior upgrades that the 98+ have, and you would only have to convert to LS1 springs and brake [or even upgrade to Vette brakes].

Wouldnt it be easier and cheaper to just switch out the nose, lights and maybe fenders(not for sure if they need to be done on the camaros or not) then swapping a motor and having to buy a new motor. You could easily find some one that would be probably willing to pay you a little for your ls1 front end in exchange for their lt1 front end. Black or red? Wow some of the most common colors. Easliy done and could make money off of it instead of costing you money with a new motor and all the work. just my opinion but im no one

easer and less of a head ache to just swap the bumper, fenders, hood. than to swap the engine.
